This is a temporary full-time contract position for five (5) months.

Job Purpose
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the academic administration of Undergraduate and Honours programmes within the department. The role requires a highly organised, proactive, and professional individual capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced higher education environment while providing excellent administrative support to academic staff and students.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must possess:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- A relevant tertiary diploma or degree
- At least 5 years’ relevant academic administration experience
- Knowledge of university academic administration procedures and policies
- Understanding of university administrative structures and processes
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience servicing meetings and recording minutes
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
- Strong planning and time-management abilities
- Ability to prioritise and multitask under pressure
- Advanced computer skills in:
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- Microsoft Outlook
- Experience using PeopleSoft
- Experience with a Learning Management System such as Vula

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Coordinate the academic administration of two Undergraduate programmes and three Honours programmes
- Support Programme Convenors on academic administration matters
- Ensure departmental administrative processes run efficiently
- Implement faculty directives and administrative procedures
- Assist the Departmental Manager in ensuring smooth departmental operations
- Work collaboratively within the administrative team
- Provide administrative support to the Head of Department when required
- Assist colleagues during periods of leave or absence
