About SABFS
The South African Board for Sheriffs (SABFS) is responsible for maintaining the integrity and professionalism of sheriffs across South Africa. The Board promotes high standards of training and performance while enhancing access to justice through effective regulation and oversight.
Job Purpose
The successful candidate will provide comprehensive secretarial, administrative, and clerical support to the Legal Department. The role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to work efficiently in a legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and secretarial support to the Legal Department.
- Draft, type, format, and proofread legal documents and correspondence.
- Manage diaries and coordinate appointments and meetings.
- Prepare meeting agendas, packs, and record accurate minutes.
- Open, maintain, archive, and organize legal files.
- Receive, record, and distribute legal correspondence.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders professionally.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive legal information.
- Perform general office administration duties as required.

Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Legal Secretary Diploma, Secretarial Diploma, or an equivalent qualification.
- A Paralegal qualification will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Legal Secretary or within a legal administrative environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
