Learnership Purpose
The Road Accident Fund provides young unemployed learners with an opportunity to develop practical workplace skills and gain exposure to claims-related activities.
Successful learners may receive work-based exposure to claims assessment, legal processes, claims investigations, documentation, court processes, and the administration of claims.
Duties and Work-Based Exposure
Learners may be exposed to:
- Assessment of claims
- Preparing memorandums and summaries
- Checking correspondence
- Claims investigations relating to civil and other damages claims
- Drafting pleadings, applications and court processes
- Assessment and quantification of damages in civil matters
- Reviewing injuries and medico-legal reports
- Reviewing employment records and other quantum documents
- Taking instructions from supervisors
- Preparing files following instructions
- Liaising with attorneys, counsel, experts, investigators and other stakeholders
- Consultations with attorneys
- Preparing memorandums relating to claims and legal processes
- Managing deadlines and court-related timeframes
- Administration of court processes such as summons and writs
- Performing administrative tasks
- Negotiating with attorneys regarding bills of costs
- Preparing reconciliations for attorneys
- Implementing relevant directives and policies
- Gaining exposure to legal costs within the RAF
- Performing ad hoc duties as required
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate or Statement of Results
- Valid South African ID
- CV
- Motivational letter
- Basic computer skills
Applicants must be unemployed, aged 18 to 23, and must not have previously been employed in the field of the advertised learnership.
Applicants must also not have previously participated in a learnership programme in the relevant field.

Important Application Conditions

Stipend
