Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 10 or equivalent qualification
- Basic HIV knowledge and/or training
- Basic HIV and AIDS counselling training will be advantageous
- Ability to read and write effectively
- Good communication and community engagement skills
- Ability to capture, compile, sort, and verify data accurately
- Ability to prepare numerical and narrative reports
- Must be an Ekurhuleni resident
- Must be based within the ward or community where services will be rendered
- Reception Administrator – Mediclinic
- Unit Administrative Assistant – Mediclinic
- Senior Clerk Health and Wellness – Eskom
- Senior Clerk General Administration
- General Worker (Assistant Driver)
Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Building AIDS-competent communities at ward level
- Providing HIV/AIDS information, education, and awareness programmes
- Supporting initiatives aimed at reducing new HIV infections
- Assisting families affected by HIV/AIDS through care and support services
- Supporting patients on Tuberculosis (TB) and Antiretroviral Treatment (ART) programmes
- Promoting treatment adherence and healthy lifestyles
- Facilitating acceptance and support for people living with HIV/AIDS
- Promoting municipal HIV/AIDS programmes and health services
- Creating awareness of HIV Counselling and Testing Services (HTS)
- Promoting Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) programmes
- Educating communities about Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) services
- Supporting Anti-Retroviral Treatment (ART) initiatives
- Identifying and referring Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC)
- Assisting Child-Headed Households through appropriate referral services
- Maintaining accurate records and submitting reports to supervisors
