The Department of Transport is offering bursaries in the following transport-related fields for full-time studies:

Fields of Study for External Bursaries

Field of Study Number of Bursaries Bachelor of Marine Engineering (NQF 7) 2 BSc in Geomatics (GIS / Transport Planning focus) (NQF 7) 2 Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degree in Civil Engineering / Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Civil Engineering (four-year degree) or the extended year for the above degrees (five-year degree) 3 Total 7

NB: The above are undergraduate degrees equivalent to NQF Level 8 – 480 Credits.

Selection Criteria

Preference will be given to individuals who:

  • Excel academically
  • Demonstrate financial need
  • Show potential and are not benefiting from any other bursary scheme
  • Meet admission requirements as stipulated by the University/Institution and attach proof
  • Have obtained at least Level 4 in Mathematics, Physical Science and English
