Working closely with the Senior Continued Airworthiness Specialist, the successful candidate will help ensure that FlySafair’s fleet remains compliant with the regulations of the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) and applicable international aviation standards.

About the Role

The Continued Airworthiness Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all aircraft maintenance records, certifications, technical documentation, and regulatory requirements are properly maintained and updated.

This position plays an important role in supporting FlySafair’s continued airworthiness programme by coordinating maintenance documentation, monitoring certificate validity, assisting with technical publications, and liaising with aviation authorities.

The successful candidate will also provide administrative support to the Responsible Person Aircraft (RPA) and the Airworthiness Specialist while ensuring compliance with aviation legislation and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing day-to-day administrative support to the Responsible Person Aircraft (RPA) and Airworthiness Specialist.
  • Reviewing and updating FlySafair maintenance and compliance systems accurately.
  • Maintaining a complete register of maintenance and service contracts.
  • Monitoring contract expiry dates and ensuring contracts remain valid.
  • Ensuring all aircraft maintenance records are complete, accurate and compliant with SACAA regulations.
  • Monitoring the validity and renewal of:
    • Certificates of Airworthiness
    • Radio Licences
    • Certificates of Release to Service (CRS)
    • RVSM approvals
    • Other mandatory aircraft certifications
  • Preparing and submitting applications for certificate renewals when required.
  • Serving as the first point of contact for telephone enquiries within the department.
  • Taking messages and coordinating communication with internal departments.
  • Assisting in preparing new technical manuals and revising existing technical publications.
  • Compiling monthly technical and compliance reports.
  • Maintaining organised electronic and physical filing systems.
  • Building and maintaining professional relationships with aviation regulatory authorities.
  • Supporting compliance audits and inspections.
  • Assisting with document control and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Ensuring confidential aviation records are securely maintained.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience within the aviation industry, specifically in an aircraft maintenance environment.
  • Good knowledge of South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) regulations.
  • Strong computer literacy, including:
    • Microsoft Word
    • Microsoft Excel
    • Microsoft Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and administrative abilities.

Advantageous Qualifications

The following will be beneficial:

  • Diploma in Aviation Management.
  • Degree in Aviation, Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance or a related field.
  • Previous experience in continued airworthiness or maintenance planning.
  • Experience working with aviation maintenance management systems.
  • Knowledge of aircraft technical documentation and regulatory reporting.
