About the Role

The successful candidate will serve as the first point of contact for visitors, suppliers, contractors, and internal staff at the municipal vehicle maintenance workshops. The role combines reception, customer service, and administrative responsibilities to ensure the efficient operation of the workshop office and support service delivery within the Transport & Fleet Management Department.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
  • Reception Certificate.
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office and email).
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a reception, administrative, or customer service environment.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Welcoming and directing visitors, clients, and contractors.
  • Answering telephone calls and responding to general enquiries professionally.
  • Performing reception and general clerical duties.
  • Maintaining accurate records, filing systems, and office documentation.
  • Assisting with correspondence, data capturing, and administrative support.
  • Coordinating communication between workshop staff and visitors.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, municipal policies, and occupational health and safety requirements.
  • Supporting effective utilisation of municipal resources to minimise waste and unnecessary expenditure.
  • Delivering professional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintaining confidentiality when handling municipal information and records.
  • Monitoring own performance and continuously improving service delivery.
