Job Overview

Premier is looking for a highly organised and motivated Assistant Admin to join its Bakery Administration team in Durban. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive administrative and office support to management and departmental staff, ensuring the efficient day-to-day operation of the office.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, has excellent organisational skills, and can manage multiple administrative tasks while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing daily administrative support to managers and departmental teams.
  • Managing and maintaining office filing systems (electronic and manual).
  • Coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, booking venues, and taking accurate meeting minutes.
  • Managing executive and departmental diaries and scheduling appointments.
  • Making travel and accommodation arrangements when required.
  • Preparing professional reports, spreadsheets, presentations, and business documents.
  • Maintaining office housekeeping standards and ensuring administrative areas remain organised.
  • Assisting with office procurement and ensuring adequate office supplies are available.
  • Administering petty cash according to company procedures.
  • Handling incoming correspondence, emails, and telephone enquiries.
  • Supporting office systems, workflows, and administrative processes.
  • Maintaining confidential records and company information.
  • Assisting with departmental projects and ad hoc administrative duties.
  • Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Providing excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Administration Diploma or an equivalent qualification will be advantageous.
  • 2–3 years’ proven administrative experience.
  • Previous experience in an FMCG environment is preferred.
  • Experience supporting managers or multiple departments will be beneficial.
