About the Role

The System Administrator will be responsible for configuring, monitoring, maintaining and improving warehouse information systems and supporting the IT infrastructure used in daily operations. The successful candidate will work closely with warehouse teams, software vendors, service providers and the internal IT department to ensure all systems remain secure, stable and fully operational.

This role also involves supporting software upgrades, implementing new technologies, resolving technical issues, maintaining documentation, training users and assisting with new warehouse system implementations across the business.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Configure user authentication and access permissions.
  • Administer Warehouse Management Systems and other business applications.
  • Install, configure and upgrade software and hardware.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure maximum uptime.
  • Investigate and resolve software and system errors.
  • Escalate complex issues to software vendors when necessary.
  • Test software fixes before implementation.
  • Implement approved software updates and enhancements.
  • Support warehouse stock take processes and perform system audits.
  • Train warehouse staff and end users on system functionality.
  • Provide ongoing user support and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain system documentation and operating procedures.
  • Generate operational and management reports.
  • Assist with implementing IT systems at new warehouse sites.
  • Support Visibill, printer systems and mobile service providers.
  • Liaise with third-party IT service providers.
  • Process IT procurement requests.
  • Assist in determining network and infrastructure requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company security policies.
  • Protect the integrity of company equipment and IT systems.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Diploma or Advanced Certificate (NQF Level 6) in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Systems Administrator or in a similar IT support role.
  • Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Good understanding of computer hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of Windows operating systems and network administration.
  • Experience with user account administration and system security.
  • Ability to troubleshoot software, hardware and network problems.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
