About the Role

Absa is looking for a detail-oriented and organized Clerk Data Capturing to join its Johannesburg team. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working with financial information, maintaining accurate records, and supporting reconciliation processes in a fast-paced banking environment.

As a Clerk Data Capturing, you will be responsible for capturing and maintaining accurate financial data, preparing reconciliations, and ensuring that all work is completed according to Absa’s standard operating procedures (SOPs). You will also support the implementation of risk management and internal control processes to help maintain operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and complete financial reconciliations.
  • Capture, update, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Perform balancing and reconciliation activities in accordance with established procedures.
  • Ensure all tasks comply with Absa’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Support the implementation of risk management frameworks and internal controls.
  • Identify and report discrepancies or irregularities where necessary.
  • Assist with administrative duties related to reconciliation and data processing.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy when handling sensitive financial information.
  • Meet productivity and quality standards while working within deadlines.

Minimum Requirements

  • Further Education and Training Certificate (FETC) in Financial Sciences (Required).
  • Strong numerical and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work in a structured, process-driven banking environment.
