The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) Human Settlements Department is recruiting qualified graduates for an 18-month internship programme within the Executive Director’s Office. Purpose of the Internship
The internship programme is an intervention by the City of Johannesburg to provide qualifying students and graduates with workplace-based training and practical experience required for professional development and career growth.
The programme is intended for individuals who require exposure to real-world working environments as part of their transition from academic studies into the labour market.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
- Degree in:
- Business Management
- Business Administration
- Public Management
- Public Administration
- Qualification must be at NQF Level 7
- Qualification completed with a minimum of 360 credits
- No previous work experience required
- Must be a resident of the City of Johannesburg
- Must not have previously participated in an internship programme, unless the previous internship was unrelated to their field of study
Primary Functions
The successful candidate will assist the Business Management Directorate by:
- Performing developmental-level professional administrative work
- Conducting research and analysis
- Supporting business management functions
- Assisting with monitoring and evaluation activities
- Supporting risk management and regulatory compliance processes
- Participating in Human Resources-related administrative functions
- Assisting with long-, medium-, and short-term strategic planning
- Contributing to Business Plans and Quarterly Reports
- Supporting the development of strategic planning concept notes
- Participating in day-to-day operations of the Executive Director’s Office
