Job Purpose

The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for the school. You will be responsible for managing communication, welcoming visitors, handling enquiries, and providing essential administrative support to ensure efficient daily operations in a busy educational environment.


Minimum Requirements

  • Previous experience in receptionist, front desk, or customer service role
  • Strong telephone and switchboard handling skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Clear criminal record (mandatory for school environments)
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational skills


Advantageous Skills

  • Experience in a school or education setting
  • Higher education or administrative qualification
  • Multilingual abilities (advantage)
  • Experience working with children or parents

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist visitors, learners, and parents professionally
  • Answer, screen, and transfer telephone calls
  • Take accurate messages and ensure prompt communication
  • Handle general enquiries and direct people appropriately
  • Maintain visitor logs and front office records
  • Provide administrative and clerical support to school staff
  • Support day-to-day communication between departments
  • Ensure reception area remains tidy and organised
  • Assist with basic office tasks such as filing and data entry
