Engineering Clerk – Full Time | Riverhorse Valley, Durban

Unilever is currently recruiting for an Engineering Clerk to join its Supply Chain team at the Indonsa Factory in Durban. This onsite role is ideal for candidates with experience in inventory control, engineering stores administration, SAP systems, and maintenance support within a manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will support engineering and production teams by managing spare parts inventory, handling supplier coordination, maintaining work order systems, and ensuring compliance with SHE and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

The Engineering Clerk will be responsible for:

  • Managing the parts inventory system and stores transactions
  • Capturing goods receipts, issues, and returns
  • Handling supplier queries and blocked invoices
  • Replenishing stock through the Coupa Purchase Order System
  • Performing inventory cycle counts and maintaining accurate stock records
  • Supporting maintenance teams with critical spare availability
  • Managing engineering work order systems and reports
  • Monitoring stock levels to prevent stock shortages
  • Ensuring SHE and Quality compliance standards are met
  • Maintaining updated MSDS documentation
  • Supporting 5S housekeeping compliance
  • Escalating operational non-compliance issues to management

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Mathematics and Science as prerequisite subjects
  • SAP Inventory Management experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

The following will be advantageous:

  • SAP Plant Maintenance System knowledge
  • Coupa Procurement System experience
  • Engineering spares management experience
