About the Learner Technicians Programme
The successful candidates will be placed within different operational areas at Camden Power Station and will receive structured institutional and workplace-based training.
The 8 positions are allocated as follows:
- 5 positions – Maintenance
- 1 position – Outages
- 2 positions – Plant Performance Engineering
This opportunity is suited to graduates who have completed the required Mechanical or Chemical Engineering studies and are looking to gain practical experience in the energy and power-generation sector.

Key Responsibilities
Learner Technicians will:
- Participate in institutionalised training.
- Complete on-the-job workplace training.
- Gain practical exposure within their assigned Eskom operational area.
- Apply technical knowledge in a workplace environment.
- Work with relevant teams and personnel within the power station.
- Follow Eskom policies, procedures and workplace requirements.
- Develop technical and professional workplace competencies.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Qualification
- Fully completed S4 / S5 in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
Citizenship
- Must be a South African Citizen.
Additional Requirements
Applicants will go through Eskom’s recruitment and selection process. Successful candidates may be placed within Eskom Operations across the relevant divisions.
