About the YES Programme

The Youth Employment Service (YES) is a South African initiative designed to provide unemployed youth with meaningful workplace experience. Participants receive practical on-the-job training, helping them develop skills that improve their chances of securing permanent employment in the future.

Job Purpose

The successful candidate will support daily store operations while delivering excellent customer service and assisting customers with their shopping experience. You will also help maintain store presentation, stock levels, and merchandising standards.

Key Responsibilities

Successful applicants may be required to:

  • Welcome and assist customers professionally.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Promote current promotions and fashion trends.
  • Help customers choose suitable products.
  • Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system when required.
  • Replenish shelves and maintain stock availability.
  • Receive and unpack new stock deliveries.
  • Ensure merchandise is neatly displayed according to company standards.
  • Maintain a clean and organised sales floor.
  • Prevent stock losses through good housekeeping and adherence to store procedures.
  • Work closely with the store team to achieve sales targets.
  • Follow all company policies, health and safety regulations, and security procedures.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be 18–28 years old.
  • Have Grade 12 (Matric) (preferred).
  • Be unemployed.
  • Be available for the full 12-month contract.
  • Not have worked permanently for one employer continuously for more than one year.
  • Not be studying full-time between April 2026 and March 2027.
  • Never have participated in the YES Programme previously.
  • Be able to arrange their own accommodation and transport where necessary.
