The Limpopo Department of Education (LDoE) is recruiting 117 Teacher Aides (Teacher Assistants) to support teaching and learning in Special Schools and Inclusive Education institutions across Limpopo Province. This opportunity is ideal for unemployed South Africans with a Grade 12 (Matric) qualification who are passionate about education, learner development, and supporting children with special educational needs.

Successful candidates will work closely with teachers to provide classroom support, prepare learning resources, supervise learners, and assist learners with disabilities to ensure an inclusive learning environment.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent qualification.
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Patience, empathy and compassion when working with learners.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Good planning, organisational and coaching skills.
  • Ability to perform duties under pressure.

Key Responsibilities

Teacher Aides will assist educators by:

  • Supporting teaching and learning activities in classrooms.
  • Helping learners complete assessments and classwork.
  • Preparing classroom materials and teaching resources.
  • Setting up ICT equipment and assistive learning devices.
  • Assisting with classroom administration and filing.
  • Supervising learners during lessons, breaks and playground activities.
  • Supporting learners who require additional educational assistance.
  • Assisting learners with physical disabilities, including accompanying them to the bathroom when necessary.
  • Helping maintain a clean, organised and learner-friendly classroom environment.
  • Encouraging learner participation and promoting inclusive education.
