Purpose of the Role
To safely transport people, documents, and goods while ensuring compliance with national road safety regulations. The role also includes messenger services, mail handling, document management, and vehicle maintenance responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
Messenger Services
- Collect and deliver correspondence from government institutions.
- Obtain delivery confirmations and maintain accurate logbooks.
- Plan efficient delivery routes.
- Reconcile and track packages.
Administration & Records Management
- Process incoming and outgoing mail.
- Maintain records and archive documents according to policy.
- Monitor postal and document binding services.
- Prepare records for off-site storage.
Transport & Operations
- Safely transport staff, materials, and documents.
- Conduct vehicle inspections before and after trips.
- Report defects, delays, or incidents immediately.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate
- Valid Code 10 (EC1/EC) Driver’s License
- Professional Driver’s Permit (PDP)
- At least 1 year experience in a driving or messenger environment
