Job Purpose

The Delivery Assistant is responsible for assisting the driver with the safe and efficient delivery of products to customers. The role involves unloading goods, stocking shelves, handling returnable crates, counting stock during deliveries, and ensuring excellent customer service at every delivery point.

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Offload products safely from the delivery truck.
  • Deliver stock to customer premises.
  • Carry beverage crates into shops and businesses.
  • Pack products neatly onto customer shelves.
  • Count stock while unloading to ensure delivery accuracy.
  • Collect and return empty crates to the truck.
  • Assist the driver during reversing by providing guidance.
  • Help change a punctured tyre when necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the delivery vehicle and work area.
  • Follow all company safety procedures during deliveries.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.
  • Report damaged products or delivery discrepancies.
  • Work efficiently to meet delivery schedules.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Good physical health and ability to lift heavy beverage crates.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays when required.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • A Code 10 Driver’s Licence with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP) will be an added advantage.
