Key Responsibilities

Successful applicants will be expected to:

• Assist with food preparation and meal serving
• Help prepare normal and therapeutic diets for patients
• Dish up and distribute meals according to dietary guidelines
• Ensure portion control measures are followed
• Pack food delivery trolleys for hospital wards
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in food service areas
• Clean floors, storage areas, utensils, and kitchen equipment
• Practice proper waste management and sanitation procedures
• Wear protective clothing and comply with hygiene regulations
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and report faults or damages
• Rotate across different food service sections when required
• Support patient safety and infection prevention measures
• Follow Batho Pele Principles and hospital service standards
• Participate in food service training and workplace development programmes

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Grade 10, Grade 11, or Grade 12 qualification

• Equivalent qualification
