About the Role

The Receiving Controller is responsible for managing the receiving process from start to finish. This includes inspecting incoming deliveries, verifying quantities and quality, updating inventory systems, organising warehouse storage, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring all received stock meets company and aviation regulatory requirements.

The role requires someone who pays close attention to detail, works well under pressure, and maintains high standards of accuracy because aviation operations depend on the correct handling of aircraft parts and equipment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

The successful applicant will:

  • Receive incoming deliveries and sign delivery documentation.
  • Unload trucks safely using forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, or other warehouse equipment.
  • Verify deliveries against purchase orders and supplier invoices.
  • Inspect packages for shortages, damage, defects, or incorrect items.
  • Record all received inventory accurately.
  • Update stock information using the SAM AMO system.
  • Conduct daily stock checks on newly received items.
  • Track all received aircraft spares and produce daily reports.
  • Label inventory correctly before storage.
  • Allocate stock to the correct warehouse locations.
  • Assist with inventory control and stock reconciliation.
  • Return damaged or incorrect shipments to suppliers.
  • Prepare return documentation and vendor paperwork.
  • Process warehouse transfers to other locations.
  • Communicate with Procurement, Logistics, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and other departments regarding deliveries.
  • Ensure invoices are approved after successful deliveries.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and audit-ready receiving area.
  • Monitor tools and equipment within the receiving section.
  • Ensure all shipments are handled according to company procedures and aviation standards.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent qualification.
  • At least 3–5 years of warehouse or receiving experience in a medium-sized organisation.
  • Good knowledge of warehouse receiving procedures.
  • Ability to work overtime when operational requirements demand.
  • Good computer literacy and record-keeping skills.
  • Strong communication and organisational abilities.

Advantageous Qualifications

  • Dangerous Goods Certification.
  • Aircraft Spares Packing Certification.
  • Experience using the SAM AMO inventory management system.
  • Forklift operating experience.
  • Valid Forklift Licence.
