Purpose of the Engineering Clerk Role
The Engineering Clerk – Maintenance Support role is responsible for providing administrative and operational support to Maintenance Area Managers and Maintenance Foremen. The successful candidate will help ensure smooth maintenance operations, proper document control, audit preparation, overtime administration, and compliance with company maintenance procedures.
This role plays a critical part in supporting maintenance teams in a fast-paced industrial and petrochemical environment.

Key Responsibilities
The Engineering Clerk will be responsible for:
- Providing administrative and logistical support to maintenance management teams
- Coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, recording minutes, and tracking action items
- Managing stationery and PPE requests, inventory, and records
- Supporting MOC (Management of Change) and MOCA processes
- Maintaining digital and physical maintenance documentation and folders
- Administering maintenance overtime forms and approvals
- Assisting with RBI reviews, Holistic Assessments, and third-party audits
- Preparing reports, registers, presentations, and operational documentation
- Ensuring compliance with audit and record-keeping standards
- Liaising with contractors, service providers, and internal departments
- Promoting safety, quality, and compliance across maintenance administration
- Supporting other STO administration teams when required
Minimum Requirements
Candidates applying for this Engineering Clerk job should have:
- Grade 12 / Matric certificate
- Administrative, technical, or business qualification (advantageous)
- 3–5 years of administrative experience in engineering, maintenance, industrial, or petrochemical environments
- Knowledge of MOC processes (advantageous)
- Experience supporting audits and compliance processes preferred
- Strong computer skills including MS Office and SAP or similar ERP systems
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Strong communication and document management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a technical operational environment
