The South African National Blood Service (SANBS) is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the permanent Donor Educator position based in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth). This role is ideal for professionals who are passionate about community education, healthcare, marketing, or teaching and want to contribute to saving lives through blood donor awareness.

The successful candidate will educate members of the public, particularly school learners, to help build and maintain a safe, low-risk blood donor base for the future.

Job Purpose

The Donor Educator is responsible for promoting blood donation awareness, educating potential donors, coordinating donor education programmes, and supporting initiatives that ensure a continuous supply of safe blood.

Key Responsibilities

  • Educate members of the public and potential blood donors.
  • Conduct donor education programmes in schools and communities.
  • Coordinate the Peer Promotion Project.
  • Implement and manage Club 25 Projects.
  • Prepare accurate monthly reports.
  • Build and maintain relationships with schools and community stakeholders.
  • Promote safe and voluntary blood donation.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must possess one of the following qualifications:

  • Registered Professional Nurse (NQF Level 5), or
  • Marketing Degree or Diploma, or
  • Teaching Degree.
