About the Central Operations Service Team

The Central Operations Service Team (COST) is a dynamic team within Health Operations. The team supports a range of specialised services and back-office functions, including New Business, Gap and Employee Health Solutions.

The ECP Service Team provides operational support across various areas of Discovery Health.

Learnership Overview

Discovery is offering a Long Term Insurance Learnership that combines structured learning with practical workplace experience in the financial services industry.

Successful candidates will work towards a nationally recognised:

FETC: Long Term Insurance – NQF Level 4 qualification

Key Responsibilities

The learnership may include exposure to:

Long Term Insurance operations
Discovery Health products
Call centre functions
New business administration
Health products administration
Back-office operational processes
Customer and service-related activities

Minimum Education Requirements

Applicants must have:

Grade 12
Mathematics: Minimum Level 4 – 50%
English: Minimum Level 4 – 50%
Mathematical Literacy: Minimum Level 5 – 60%
Second Language: Minimum Level 4 – 50%

An incomplete tertiary qualification may be an advantage.

Specific Requirements

Applicants must:

Be between 18 and 25 years old
Not currently be engaged in post-Matric studies
Not currently be formally employed
Not have completed a previous learnership
Have effective written and verbal English communication skills
Have basic computer skills
Have basic knowledge of MS Excel and MS Outlook
