Role Purpose
The Financial Crime Compliance Officer is responsible for supporting the implementation and maintenance of anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CTF) frameworks. The role ensures regulatory compliance, monitoring, and assurance to safeguard Discovery against financial crime risks.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance on legislative and regulatory compliance
- Support implementation and maintenance of the Compliance Risk Management Framework
- Identify, manage, mitigate, and report regulatory and compliance risks
- Analyse current and upcoming legislation and regulatory proposals
- Conduct compliance monitoring reviews and assessments
- Compile internal compliance and regulatory reports
- Record and track non-compliance issues and corrective actions
- Support engagement with industry bodies and legislative change initiatives
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders
- Guide, coach, and support staff on compliance matters
- Apply legal interpretation to business and operational scenarios

- Exposure to end-to-end compliance across multiple regulatory areas

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Law or equivalent
- Postgraduate qualification or Certificate in Compliance Management
- 3–5 years’ experience in regulatory risk management, compliance, or advisory roles
- Practical understanding of corporate and financial services legislation
