Job Purpose

The Clerk Inventory is responsible for performing scheduled stock counts, maintaining accurate inventory records, investigating stock variances, and supporting the store’s inventory management processes. The role contributes to reducing stock losses and ensuring products are available for customers.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct daily and scheduled stock counts.
Capture inventory counts accurately into the system.
Print and analyse stock variance reports.
Investigate stock discrepancies and report findings.
Ensure stock records are accurate and up to date.
Prepare stock count documentation for the next day’s inventory activities.
Assist the Invoice Clerk and other administrative staff when required.
Follow company stock control procedures and inventory policies.
Ensure inventory counts are completed within deadlines.
Report damaged, missing, or excess stock.
Maintain confidentiality of inventory information.
Work closely with receiving, warehouse, and store teams.
Support loss prevention initiatives.
Maintain an organised and safe work environment.

Minimum Requirements

Grade 12 (Matric).
Good understanding of basic mathematics.
Ability to communicate effectively in English.
Strong attention to detail.
Computer literacy will be advantageous.
Ability to follow instructions and company procedures.
Reliable, honest, and dependable.
Able to work independently and within a team.
