About the Role
The Cashbook Administrator plays an important role in ensuring the smooth processing of financial transactions within the business. You will be responsible for capturing payments, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting company branches with payment-related queries, and ensuring all transactions comply with internal financial policies and South African VAT legislation.
The successful candidate must be trustworthy, able to work with confidential financial information, and committed to maintaining high levels of accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
Your daily duties will include:
- Capturing and processing cashbook payments.
- Loading and allocating payments accurately.
- Verifying supporting documentation before payments are processed.
- Recording transactions in the accounting system.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and VAT regulations.
- Processing accounting journal entries when required.
- Monitoring and tracking petty cash submissions.
- Resolving payment and reconciliation queries from branches.
- Assisting with month-end financial processes.
- Maintaining accurate filing and financial records.
- Supporting the Finance Department with additional administrative tasks.
- Performing ad hoc duties assigned by management.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants should meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Computer literacy.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Approximately two years’ relevant experience will be advantageous.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles is beneficial.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling financial information.
