The Gauteng Department of Health is inviting applications for an Admin Officer: Risk Management position at Tembisa Provincial Tertiary Hospital. The position is available within the Corporate Services directorate, with one post available.

The successful candidate will support the department’s risk management activities, including risk assessments, risk registers, mitigation plans, reporting, policy implementation, training and risk awareness.

Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12
  • A Degree or National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Risk Management, Internal Auditing or an equivalent relevant qualification
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience

Candidates should also have knowledge and understanding of:

  • Public Sector Risk Management Framework
  • COSO Standards
  • ISO 31000
  • Treasury Regulations
  • King IV

Additional requirements include:

  • Computer literacy
  • Report writing skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating the risk management assessment process and compiling risk registers and mitigation plans.

Key duties include:

  • Facilitate risk management assessment processes
  • Compile risk registers and mitigation plans
  • Follow up on the implementation of mitigating action plans
  • Monitor risks and ensure they are reduced to acceptable levels
  • Prepare quarterly risk management reports for management and the Risk Management Committee
  • Ensure dissemination of the risk management strategy and associated plans to employees
  • Communicate regularly regarding outstanding items on the risk register
  • Develop and review risk management policies, strategies and implementation plans
  • Monitor implementation of risk management policies and strategies
  • Provide risk management training, workshops and awareness activities

Who Can Apply?

This vacancy is suitable for candidates who have Grade 12 together with a relevant Degree or National Diploma at NQF Level 6, particularly in Risk Management or Internal Auditing, and who have at least 3 years of relevant experience.

Applicants should also have a good understanding of public-sector risk management frameworks and standards, including the Public Sector Risk Management Framework, COSO, ISO 31000, Treasury Regulations and King IV.
