About the Opportunity
Kumba Iron Ore, part of Anglo American, is offering an opportunity for a SHE Systems Administrator to join its Safety, Health & Environment team in Postmasburg.
The successful candidate will support Kumba’s Sustainable Reporting and Integrated Management Systems, helping ensure that SHE information, statistics, documentation and reporting are accurate, properly maintained and available to support informed business decisions.
The role reports to the SHE Systems Coordinator.
SHE Systems Administrator Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of SHE administration, reporting and document-control activities.
Safety, Health and Environment
Duties include:
- Adhering to all applicable health and safety practices and requirements.
- Promoting good housekeeping and maintaining a controlled risk environment.
- Supporting compliance with SHE requirements and company standards.
SHE Administration and Reporting
Responsibilities include:
- Recording leading and lagging indicators in Isometrix and other prescribed SHE systems.
- Generating SHE reports and analysing information to support data integrity and business decisions.
- Tracking and reporting the close-out of actions recorded in relevant SHE systems.
- Identifying priority issues and escalating them for resolution.
- Assisting with monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and annual business reports.
- Providing administrative support for operational reporting and statistical information.
- Supporting the SHE team in achieving functional goals and targets.
- Responding to queries and providing timely feedback.
- Ensuring SHE statistics are accurate and comply with the SHE Management System.
Document Control
The role will also involve:
- Processing documentation according to company policies and procedures.
- Applying document-control principles within required timeframes.
- Filing and maintaining documents for compliance and easy retrieval.
- Supporting standardised document management through the One Kumba initiative.
SHE Systems Administrator Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- Grade 12 / N3 Technical
- Certificate in Office Administration, Business Management or a related field at NQF Level 4
- Computer Literacy Certificate at NQF Level 4
- Code B driver’s licence
Preferred Qualifications
The following will be advantageous:
- Higher Certificate in Office Administration, Business Management or a related field at NQF Level 5
- Certificate in Safety, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Business Management or a related field

Experience Required
The position requires:
- 5 years’ operational experience in SHE-related roles
- Understanding of safety standards and SHE system processes.
- Familiarity with relevant company policies, procedures and Anglo American standards.
- Experience working with spreadsheets, databases, word-processing applications and job-specific software.
Technical Knowledge and Computer Skills
Candidates should have knowledge of:
- The Mine Health and Safety Act, Act 29 of 1996
- The Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993
