The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) is inviting applications for Administrative Clerk positions in the National Prosecutions Service and Specialised Commercial Crime Unit. A total of four (4) positions are available, with opportunities based in Bloemfontein and Mmabatho/Lichtenburg.

The positions are suitable for applicants with Grade 12 who have strong administrative, communication, computer and organisational skills.

  1. Administrative Clerk – Bloemfontein

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will assist with:

  • Registering and scanning incoming dockets.
  • Capturing and updating information on the Electronic Case Register (ECR).
  • Updating case information received from court.
  • Providing electronic dockets and photocopies to the Defence when requested by Prosecutors.
  • Liaising with Prosecutors regarding matters being handled.
  • Verifying court proceedings and recording relevant information.
  • Generating ECR reports and statistical information.
  • Preparing statistical sheets and case summaries.
  • Preparing reports using Access, Power BI and PowerPoint.
  • Creating Excel spreadsheets for case summaries.
  • Preparing monthly ECR reports for Supervisors, the DPP and National Office.
  • Maintaining case records and electronic disclosure systems.
  • Responding to case-flow queries from Prosecutors and SAPS.
  • Preparing and maintaining files.
  • Managing Prosecutor caseloads.
  • Performing additional administrative duties assigned by the line manager.

  • Liaise with stakeholders within the Justice Sector.
  • Plan and coordinate meetings, events and other arrangements.
  • Manage information and maintain filing systems.
  • Make travel and accommodation arrangements when required.
  • Manage diaries and schedules.
  • Receive and distribute correspondence.
  • Collect and capture relevant information.
  • Provide administrative support to legal staff in finance, logistics and human resources matters.
  • Deliver mail and faxes within the office.
  • Perform filing, photocopying, faxing and document-dispatch duties.
  • Collect, capture and maintain statistics.
  • Perform general administrative duties as assigned.

Salary

All four positions offer a salary of R237,453 per annum, at Level 05, excluding benefits.
