About the Eskom YES Programme

Eskom is offering opportunities to unemployed young South Africans through the Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative. The programme is designed to provide young people with valuable workplace experience and an opportunity to gain their first exposure to the energy industry.

Successful candidates will receive a 12-month work experience contract and may be placed within Eskom Operations across different divisions and provinces in South Africa.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Be between 18 and 34 years old.
  • Have Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification.
  • Have a post-matric certificate or programme.
  • Not be studying full-time during the year of employment.
  • Not have been permanently employed by one employer continuously for more than one year.
  • Not have previously participated in or registered for the YES initiative.

Candidates will go through a recruitment and selection process. Successful candidates will then be placed in Eskom Operations across its various divisions.

The vacancy is associated with Sunninghill, Midrand and Rosherville, with successful YES participants potentially receiving placements in Eskom Operations across all South African provinces.
