About the Role

The Delivery Assistant supports the delivery driver and driver-salesman with the safe and efficient delivery of PepsiCo products to customers.

The successful candidates will help ensure that products are delivered accurately, securely and on time, while maintaining good customer service and proper stock and crate control.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the delivery driver with daily duties and deliveries.
Load and unload products at depots and customer locations.
Off-load goods from delivery vehicles.
Carry product crates into customer premises.
Return empty crates to the delivery vehicle.
Place products on customer shelves or designated receiving areas.
Count products to confirm that correct quantities have been delivered.
Assist with stock and crate control.
Check that products are properly secured before transportation.
Assist the driver when manoeuvring the vehicle, particularly when reversing.
Help maintain accurate delivery documentation.
Assist with Proof of Delivery (POD) control.
Ensure products are delivered within required timeframes.
Follow company safety procedures and operational policies.
Report accidents, incidents and safety concerns promptly.
Maintain professional relationships with customers.
Provide good customer service during deliveries.
Perform other duties assigned by the driver or management.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates should ideally have:

Matric / Grade 12.
Previous experience in delivery, logistics, distribution, warehousing or sales is advantageous.
A valid driver’s licence may be advantageous, particularly where the position requires it.
Good communication skills.
Good customer-service skills.
Ability to work physically and handle heavy products.
Ability to count and verify stock accurately.
Attention to detail.
Ability to follow safety procedures.
Ability to work under pressure and meet delivery schedules.
