About the Role

The successful candidate will assist with coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating Employment Equity (EE), Gender Mainstreaming, Disability Management, and Diversity Management initiatives across the City of Johannesburg. The position also provides administrative and technical support to departments to ensure compliance with Employment Equity legislation and the City’s transformation objectives.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • A relevant three-year tertiary qualification in Human Resources Management or a related field (NQF Level 6)
  • Between 2 and 5 years of relevant working experience
  • Strong knowledge of Employment Equity and Diversity Management principles
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong report-writing abilities
  • Good administrative and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Coordinating Employment Equity, Diversity Management, Gender Mainstreaming, and Disability programmes.
  • Collecting, analysing, and preparing Employment Equity statistical reports.
  • Preparing quantitative and qualitative reports for consultative forums.
  • Supporting departments in implementing Employment Equity policies and legislation.
  • Providing technical support to the City’s Talent Acquisition function.
  • Coordinating Employment Equity awareness campaigns and diversity events.
  • Organising Employment Equity Forum, Gender Steering Committee, and Disability Forum meetings.
  • Preparing agendas, minutes, presentations, and official documentation.
  • Maintaining accurate records and filing systems.
  • Assisting with procurement and sourcing of Diversity Management service providers.
  • Monitoring compliance with Employment Equity legislation and municipal policies.
  • Providing administrative support to the Employment Equity and Diversity Management Office.
