Standard Bank of South Africa is seeking an Investments Administrator to join its finance team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will provide important administrative and operational support to investment activities, helping ensure that investment records, transactions, reconciliations, reports, and documentation are accurate and up to date.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain accurate investment portfolio records and supporting documentation.
  • Process investment transactions, including purchases, sales, and transfers.
  • Reconcile investment accounts, statements, and financial records regularly.
  • Investigate discrepancies and ensure issues are resolved promptly.
  • Prepare investment reports, portfolio information, and performance analyses.
  • Capture and maintain investment data in financial systems and databases.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of investment-related information.
  • Monitor compliance with internal investment policies and relevant South African financial regulations.
  • Liaise with custodians, fund managers, and external service providers to obtain required information.

Minimum Requirements & Experience

Applicants should ideally have:

  • Previous experience in investment administration, portfolio administration, financial administration, or a related role.
  • Knowledge of investment products, financial markets, and fundamental investment principles.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and experience using financial or investment-related software.
  • Knowledge of financial reconciliations, reporting, record-keeping, and audit processes.
  • An understanding of South African financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) and local investment market regulations.
  • Experience working with investment management or portfolio administration systems is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in the South African financial services industry will be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of investment governance and risk management principles is an advantage.
