The organisation is seeking experienced and customer-focused individuals to join its Contact Centre team in Centurion. Purpose of the Role

The Clerk will provide professional customer support by handling policy-related enquiries, processing policy administration requests, maintaining accurate customer records, and ensuring all transactions comply with insurance regulations and company procedures. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining excellent customer relationships while ensuring efficient policy servicing.

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

  • Answering incoming customer calls professionally and efficiently.
  • Assisting clients with policy enquiries and account information.
  • Processing new business application requirements.
  • Following up on outstanding documentation.
  • Providing claim enquiry numbers to branches.
  • Assisting with unpaid claims and claim-related follow-ups.
  • Referring potential sales opportunities to the Direct Marketing Department.
  • Managing debtor enquiries, refunds, and outstanding accounts.
  • Following up on unpaid premiums and defaulted payments.
  • Investigating incorrect premium deductions.
  • Processing policy amendments and servicing requests.
  • Adding or removing insured members and dependants.
  • Updating child benefits and beneficiary information.
  • Processing reinstatements and policy reactivations.
  • Applying annual inflation adjustments where applicable.
  • Processing paid-up policy amendments.
  • Handling cessions and stop payment requests.
  • Updating banking details and payment methods.
  • Providing policy documents and policy value information.
  • Assisting authorised brokers with policy information.
  • Recording customer consent accurately.
  • Maintaining complete electronic customer records.
  • Verifying supporting documentation before processing requests.
  • Ensuring compliance with FAIS legislation and company policies.
  • Protecting confidential client information.
  • Escalating complex customer matters where necessary.
  • Delivering excellent customer service at all times.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • 140 Long-Term FAIS Credits.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Life Insurance industry.
  • Experience in policy servicing and policy maintenance.
  • Contact centre or client service experience.
  • RE5 qualification (advantageous).
  • Computer literacy.
  • Good understanding of insurance products and policy administration.
  • Excellent telephone etiquette.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
