About the YES Programme

The Youth Employment Service (YES) is a national initiative led by the Presidency to combat youth unemployment. The programme gives unemployed youth the opportunity to gain their first formal work experience through a 12-month placement with participating employers.

At Eskom, participants receive structured workplace exposure, mentorship, and practical experience while working alongside experienced professionals.

Job Purpose

The successful candidates will provide administrative support within Generation PTM Engineering by assisting various departments with office administration, document management, data capturing, and other operational support functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily administrative support to engineering teams.
  • Prepare and process reports, forms, and correspondence.
  • Capture and maintain accurate records and databases.
  • Organise and file engineering documents.
  • Schedule meetings and assist with administrative coordination.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing documentation.
  • Support procurement and inventory administration where required.
  • Ensure compliance with Eskom’s administrative procedures.
  • Assist with general office duties and special projects.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Be between 18 and 34 years old.
  • Have a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • A post-matric certificate, diploma, or programme will be advantageous.

Selection Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Not have been permanently employed by a single employer for more than 12 consecutive months.
  • Not be enrolled as a full-time student during the programme.
  • Not have participated in the YES Programme previously.
  • Successfully complete Eskom’s recruitment and selection process.
