The Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme gives unemployed young South Africans an opportunity to gain real workplace experience in a professional environment. Participants receive practical on-the-job training, mentorship, and exposure to Eskom’s operations while developing valuable skills that can improve their future employment prospects.

Successful candidates may be placed within different Eskom operational divisions depending on business requirements.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be a South African citizen.
  • Be between 18 and 34 years of age.
  • Possess a Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Be unemployed at the time of application.
  • Not be studying full-time during the programme.
  • Not have previously participated in the Youth Employment Service (YES) Programme.
  • Not have been permanently employed by one employer for more than 12 consecutive months.
