Job Purpose
The Packaging Process Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining packaging equipment to ensure maximum efficiency, product quality, and operational excellence while complying with safety, quality, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate packaging machinery safely and efficiently.
- Perform machine start-up, shutdown, and normal production operations.
- Carry out product and packaging changeovers.
- Conduct autonomous maintenance activities.
- Inspect equipment to ensure correct setup and performance.
- Monitor production processes and machine efficiency.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and support problem-solving initiatives.
- Assist with continuous improvement projects.
- Support training and coaching of production staff.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards.
- Maintain accurate production and maintenance records.
- Work closely with maintenance, quality assurance, and production teams to minimise downtime.
- Follow company procedures, housekeeping standards, and operational policies.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a packaging or manufacturing process environment.
- Ability to work rotational shifts, weekends, and public holidays when required.
- Successfully assessed on at least two packaging machines.
- Good mechanical aptitude and understanding of production processes.
