About the Internship Programme

The RAF Customer Experience Centre (CEC) Internship Programme has been developed to equip unemployed graduates with practical workplace experience in customer service, claims administration, public service, and office operations.

Successful candidates will participate in an 18-month structured internship programme, working alongside experienced professionals while receiving mentorship, practical training, and exposure to the daily operations of the Road Accident Fund.

The programme is specifically designed to improve graduate employability by bridging the gap between academic learning and real workplace experience.

Internship Purpose

The internship aims to:

Areas of Practical Training

Interns will receive hands-on experience in several operational areas, including:

Customer Consultation

  • Assisting claimants with enquiries.
  • Providing guidance regarding RAF claims.
  • Explaining claims processes and documentation requirements.
  • Supporting regional outreach programmes.

Claims Registration

  • Registering new claims.
  • Capturing applicant information.
  • Verifying submitted documents.
  • Validating claims before processing.

Claims Assessment (Merits)

  • Assisting in evaluating accident circumstances.
  • Determining possible RAF liability.
  • Supporting claims investigations.
  • Maintaining accurate records.

Administration Support

  • Filing and record management.
  • Data capturing.
  • Preparing administrative documents.
  • Updating claims information.
  • General office support.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) Certificate.
  • National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7).
  • South African Identity Document.
  • Academic Transcript.
  • Updated Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  • Motivational Letter (Maximum three pages).

All supporting documents must be certified.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be South African citizens.
  • Be between 18 and 25 years old.
  • Be unemployed at the time of application.
  • Never have worked in the relevant field.
  • Never have participated in a similar internship programme.
  • Never have previously served as an intern.
  • Be available for the full 18-month internship period.
  • Successfully pass security vetting.
