About the Role

The Admin Officer Grade I: Financial Services is responsible for supporting the financial and administrative operations of the department. The successful candidate will assist with budget management, financial reporting, audit coordination, ICT administration, records management, and ensuring compliance with municipal policies and legislation.

This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining high standards of accuracy and accountability.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Diploma or National Diploma in Accounting, Cost and Management Accounting, or an equivalent Finance qualification
  • Valid South African driver’s licence
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar finance or administrative environment

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Manage and coordinate facility bookings
  • Monitor departmental budget expenditure
  • Prepare variance and over-expenditure reports
  • Coordinate ICT-related matters within the department
  • Assist with internal and external audit processes
  • Control and record stationery received from stores, suppliers, and service providers
  • Compile financial, fleet, human resources, and administrative reports
  • Monitor and update financial systems
  • Ensure compliance with governance frameworks, municipal policies, and legislative requirements
  • Deliver services in accordance with Batho Pele Principles
  • Meet organisational performance targets and service delivery standards
  • Maintain accurate financial and administrative records
