HR Administrator Job Purpose

The HR Administrator will support the Human Resources department by coordinating payroll administration, maintaining employee information, managing time and attendance records, preparing HR documentation, and ensuring compliance with company policies and labour legislation.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or NQF Level 4, 5 or 6 qualification
  • Diploma in Human Resources (advantageous)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an HR Administrator or Payroll Clerk
  • Manufacturing industry experience will be an advantage
  • Good computer literacy with strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Valid South African driver’s licence
  • Ability to communicate in isiZulu (advantageous)
  • Knowledge of Industrial Relations (IR) and Employee Relations (ER)
  • Understanding of CCMA processes
  • Knowledge of the Basic Conditions of Employment Act (BCEA)
  • Knowledge of the Labour Relations Act (LRA)
  • Experience using the Trac-Tec Time and Attendance System will be an advantage

Key Responsibilities

Time and Attendance Administration

  • Register new employees on the Time and Attendance system
  • Remove terminated employees from the system
  • Update leave, absenteeism, injuries on duty, and training records
  • Ensure monthly timesheets are approved before payroll deadlines
  • Report and resolve system issues through the control desk

Payroll Administration

  • Process payroll accurately and within deadlines
  • Verify payroll information before submission
  • Assist with payroll-related administrative tasks

Human Resources Administration

  • Prepare employee termination documentation
  • Process maternity leave applications
  • Maintain accurate employee records and filing systems
  • Compile monthly HR reports and statistics
  • Update union membership records
  • Coordinate Employment Equity and union meetings
  • Process provident fund documentation
  • Capture new employee information accurately
