About the Role

The successful candidates will support the Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Centre of Excellence by providing administrative support, capturing and managing incident information, processing compensation-related documentation, and helping maintain a safe, compliant, and risk-free working environment.

This role is suited to someone who is organised, detail-oriented, and capable of handling confidential information accurately while supporting daily SHEQ operations.


Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include:

  • Capturing and controlling SHEQ incident data
  • Registering workplace incidents and compensation claims
  • Processing and administering Workman’s Compensation documentation
  • Maintaining accurate SHEQ records and databases
  • Performing general office administration duties
  • Assisting with SHEQ documentation and reporting
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
  • Promoting health and safety compliance across operations
  • Assisting with administrative tasks related to quality, environmental and safety management systems
  • Ensuring documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 (Matric)

Experience

A minimum of 2 years’ experience in one or more of the following:

  • Safety administration
  • General administration
  • Data capturing and processing
  • Registration of Workman’s Compensation claims
  • Customer service environment

Skills Required

Successful applicants should possess:

  • Excellent administrative skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Good interpersonal and organisational abilities
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Strong record-keeping and document management skills

Advantageous Qualifications & Knowledge

Candidates with the following will have an added advantage:

  • Post-Matric SHEQ qualification
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
  • Understanding of occupational health and safety legislation and workplace compliance
