About the Role
As a Supply Chain Management Officer, you will provide professional advice and operational support to SANBI business units on procurement policies, supply chain procedures, contract management, governance, and legislative compliance. You will play an important role in ensuring transparent, fair, and efficient procurement processes throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement activities in accordance with SANBI Supply Chain Management policies.
- Administer end-to-end procurement processes, including bid evaluation and award administration.
- Coordinate supplier briefing sessions and procurement meetings.
- Support contract management and procurement planning activities.
- Provide professional support and guidance to suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor compliance with procurement legislation and internal policies.
- Assist with governance, risk management, and audit compliance initiatives.
- Prepare procurement reports and maintain accurate procurement records.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with the PFMA, Treasury Regulations, and other applicable legislation.
- Promote ethical procurement practices and value for money across the organisation.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must possess either:
Option 1
- National Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or an equivalent qualification (NQF Level 6).
- Minimum of 4 years’ relevant work experience.
OR
Option 2
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or equivalent qualification (NQF Level 7).
- Minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills
The successful candidate should demonstrate:
- Extensive knowledge of Supply Chain Management legislation, policies, systems, and best practices.
- Strong understanding of the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
- Knowledge of Treasury Regulations and Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP).
- Contract management and procurement administration experience.
- Excellent planning, organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong report writing abilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Project, and Internet applications.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Additional Requirements
- Valid South African driver’s licence.
- At least one year of practical driving experience.
