Main Purpose of the Role

The successful candidate will safely operate a forklift to transport raw materials, finished products, and pallets throughout the warehouse while ensuring stock is accurately stored, handled, and dispatched according to company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
  • Load and unload trucks and delivery vehicles.
  • Move stock between receiving, storage, production, and dispatch areas.
  • Stack pallets correctly to prevent product damage.
  • Perform daily pre-start and post-operation forklift inspections.
  • Report mechanical faults, accidents, or damages immediately.
  • Follow all occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work area.
  • Operate warehouse scanners to receive and complete assigned tasks.
  • Print pallet control labels (PCL) and attach identification stickers.
  • Assist with stock counts and inventory checks.
  • Support warehouse and logistics teams when required.
  • Ensure products are handled carefully to minimise losses.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
  • Valid Forklift Licence.
  • 2–3 years’ experience operating forklifts in a warehouse, manufacturing, or logistics environment.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work in physically demanding and extreme conditions.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, overtime, and public holidays when required.

Preferred Experience

Candidates with experience in any of the following will have an advantage:

  • FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) industry
  • Warehouse operations
  • Manufacturing or production environments
  • Stock control and inventory management
  • RF scanner and warehouse management systems
