About the Role
The Registered Nurse will be responsible for delivering and promoting cost-effective, safe, and quality patient care in accordance with hospital standards, policies, and clinical governance requirements.
Successful candidates will provide direct and indirect nursing care, assess patient needs, plan and implement treatment interventions, and ensure that the highest standards of healthcare delivery are maintained at all times.
The role requires strong clinical expertise, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care within the Scope of Practice.
- Assume responsibility for assigned patients and nursing activities.
- Contribute to holistic patient care and recovery.
- Participate in shift handovers and patient care planning.
- Audit patient health records for compliance and accuracy.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families.
- Maintain professional relationships with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control protocols.
- Administer medication safely according to hospital policies.
- Monitor, manage, and control ward stock and medical supplies.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and Clinical Governance activities.
- Maintain accurate patient documentation and nursing records.
- Assist in emergency and critical care interventions when required.

Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this opportunity, applicants must have:
- Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Registered Nurse.
- An equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification.
- Relevant post-basic qualification in Critical Care Nursing.
- A minimum of three years’ nursing experience within a private hospital environment.
- Relevant experience in Critical Care Nursing.
- Experience across various nursing disciplines.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making abilities.
Advantageous Requirements
The following will be advantageous:
- Experience within private healthcare or healthcare funding environments.
- Knowledge of SAP systems.
- Additional specialised nursing certifications.
- Experience with hospital accreditation processes.
