Minimum Requirements

Applicants must possess:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) Certificate.
  • Knowledge of Health Information Management, data validation, and interpretation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access (proof required).
  • Understanding of health information systems and reporting processes.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Batho Pele Principles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English and other official languages.
  • Valid driver’s licence.

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

Data Management and Reporting

  • Capturing and maintaining quality healthcare data.
  • Managing information on Web-DHIS and related databases.
  • Producing monthly and quarterly reports.
  • Collecting, collating, validating, and analysing health information.

Data Quality Improvement

  • Training staff on data collection procedures.
  • Performing data verification and reconciliation.
  • Ensuring compliance with DHMIS policies.
  • Implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve data quality.

Information Management

  • Monitoring and evaluating the use of Health Information Management tools.
  • Supporting ward administration clerks and information officers.
  • Providing feedback and performance indicator training.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely submission of reports.

Administrative Duties

  • Managing databases and spreadsheets.
  • Supporting line management functions.
  • Participating in information management capacity-building initiatives.
  • Working extended hours and weekends when required.
