Job Purpose
The successful candidate will contribute to the effective management of pharmaceutical and hospital stock, ensuring accurate inventory control, stock availability, compliance with hospital procedures, and efficient stock utilization across departments.
Key Responsibilities
As a Stock Controller, your duties will include:
- Taking full responsibility for stock management processes
- Receiving and reconciling prosthesis and consignment stock against supplier invoices
- Assisting with Goods Received/Invoice Received (GRIR) investigations
- Ensuring compliance with stock management SOPs
- Filing invoices and supporting documentation accurately
- Managing new item code requests
- Unpacking, checking, and organizing stock deliveries
- Improving stock availability throughout the hospital
- Assisting in reducing stock write-offs and wastage
- Managing non-recoverable consumable utilization
- Supporting formulary compliance and cost-saving initiatives
- Ensuring accurate billing through e-Billing and Ward Impilo systems
- Maintaining stock levels in theatre and clinical areas
- Managing cycle counts and quarterly stock takes
- Investigating inventory variances and discrepancies
- Liaising with nursing staff and ward clerks regarding stock-related queries

Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this position, applicants should have:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Computer literacy
- Experience in inventory management or a pharmaceutical environment
- Knowledge of inventory control procedures and practices
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Effective communication and time management skills
- Customer service orientation
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
Advantageous Qualifications and Experience
The following will be beneficial:

- SAP system experience
