About the Learnership

The Sasol Learner Fire Fighter Programme combines structured training with practical workplace experience. Successful candidates will participate in firefighting training, emergency preparedness activities, rescue operations training, and workplace readiness programmes designed to prepare them for a career in fire and emergency services.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate (Matric)
  • Pass in Technical Mathematics, Mathematics, or Maths Literacy
  • Pass in English or Business English
  • Pass in Technical Science or Physical Science
  • Code B driver’s licence or higher
  • Be between 18 and 29 years old
  • Be able to pass a firefighter fitness assessment
  • Be able to pass stress and fear assessments involving:
    • Heights
    • Confined spaces
    • Fire exposure
    • Cat ladders
  • Reside within Sasol local communities in Secunda or Sasolburg

Key Responsibilities

  • Complete classroom and practical training
  • Attend workplace readiness activities
  • Participate in assessments and evaluations
  • Learn firefighting, rescue, and emergency response procedures
