Job Purpose

The Relationship Banker will manage business banking clients on a many-to-many basis, providing excellent client service aimed at retaining and optimising client value while driving sustainable client growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with business banking clients.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and banking solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to attract new clients and grow existing portfolios.
  • Analyse financial statements and assess client financial positions.
  • Prepare and motivate credit applications in a structured and compliant manner.
  • Manage business banking administration processes and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal policies.
  • Support business clients with banking products and services.

Minimum Requirements

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a Business Banking environment.
  • Experience in client relationship management.
  • Experience with banking products, services, and value propositions.
  • Knowledge of business banking administration processes.
  • Ability to analyse financial statements.
  • Experience preparing and motivating credit applications.

Qualifications

  • Certification in Commerce or Banking.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Finance or Accounting (Financial Accounting).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (Financial Accounting).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.

Knowledge Requirements

Candidates should have knowledge of:

  • Business banking products and services.
  • General banking practices and procedures.
  • Credit principles and lending requirements.
  • Credit application processes and securities.
  • FAIS and FICA legislation.
  • Business banking administration procedures.
  • Client service and relationship management principles.

Additional knowledge of Capitec Business Banking products, competitor offerings, and banking systems will be advantageous.
