EPWP PUMP OPERATOR (397 POSTS) – FIXED-TERM CONTRACT (10 MONTHS)

- Duration: 10 Months
- Remuneration: R30,580.00 per annum

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The successful candidates will be responsible for the operation, monitoring, and basic maintenance of municipal water pumping systems. The role is essential in ensuring the reliable supply of water services to communities within the district.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
Successful incumbents will be expected to perform, but are not limited to, the following duties:
- Operate and monitor water pump systems at designated stations
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report faults or irregularities
- Perform basic cleaning and maintenance of pump houses and surrounding areas
- Assist with preventative maintenance tasks under supervision
- Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) regulations
- Maintain accurate records and report operational issues to supervisors
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must possess:
- A minimum of Grade 7 or equivalent qualification
- At least one (1) year of relevant work experience
- Basic understanding of operational or maintenance procedures
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and consistently
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical fitness to perform manual and field-related duties
- Commitment to workplace safety standards
