Position Overview

Transnet Freight Rail invites unemployed South African graduates to apply for a 24-month structured Young Professional-in-Training programme.

This graduate development programme is designed to provide both theoretical training and practical on-the-job experience, helping participants build strong workplace competence and improve long-term employability.

Candidates will be assessed every six months throughout the programme to track progress and development.

Programme Purpose

This opportunity is aimed at developing young professionals through:

  • Structured workplace exposure

  • Rotational assignments across departments
  • Skills development aligned with industry needs

Placement Areas

Successful candidates may be placed in:

  • Kilner Park
  • Durban
  • Beaufort West

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree / National Diploma (NQF Level 6, 7 or 8) in:
    • Human Resource Management
    • Industrial Psychology
    • Psychology
    • Social Work
    • Or related fields

Experience

  • No prior work experience required

Citizenship

  • Must be a South African citizen
